Conversion of station warehouse into four residences, Burston, Norfolk

Located in the yard of a station that closed in 1966 on the main London to Norwich line, this long, low brick warehouse is typical of work buildings constructed at rural train stations.

A particular challenge was to provide a high level of sound insulation to protect from the noise of passing trains. A strategy for ways to mitigate noise was included and agreed in the planning application.

The warehouse was converted into three 3 bedroom houses and one 4 bedroom house.
